Ideal Blinds Poplar, Western Red Cedar Plantation Shutters
The most prestigious and expensive of all window furnishings is the Plantation Wood Shutter.
You can fix plantation shutters over an opening or mount them on tracks to operate as a sliding door hinge for bi-fold opening. A great use of a shutter is to place it in an opening in between rooms to create an appealing visual room feature.
The Ideal Blinds range of wood plantation shutters includes 45, 60 and 90mm wide louvres in either flat or aerofoil finish. Traditionally, shutter control rods are mounted in the centre of the louvres. However, as an alternative, Ideal Blinds also offers a 'clear-view' control, with the shutter control rod mounted at the side.
We offer several finishing variations in our Western Red Cedar shutters. Our clear lacquer coating allows for colour variation that lets the natural red cedar show through. Alternatively, we offer painted Poplar wood shutters in various shades of white and custom colour shutters using our colour code. Contact Ideal Blinds for more information on our custom colours.
Please note that shutters wider than approximately 800mm have a mullion (centre post) in the middle of the frame for increased stability. For the same reason, shutters with a drop greater than 1500mm we install a horizontal (rail) from 1/4 to 1/3 of the total drop from the shutter bottom. Before you order, be sure to see our Measuring & Installation page to find the proper clearance for your shutters!
